Morris Elmer Wade
Morris Wade, 88, of Krebs, died onThursday, January 23, 2020, at his home in Krebs.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be on Monday, January 27, at 11 a.m. at Brumley-Mills Chapel with Chaplain Jarrod Peterson officiating.
Honorary pallbearers are Paul Grimes, Ed Marshall, Ed Palmer, Dennis Wilson, Steve Ott and Carl Bornheim.
Morris Wade was born on April 3, 1931, in Pittsburg, to Tom Wade and Lena Mae (Derryberry-Wade) Peppers. He grew up around Kiowa and at 16 moved to California.
After high school he joined the United States Air Force. Morris served in the air force during the Korean War and the Vietnam War, retiring after 21 years of service to his country.
He and his wife, Anna, returned to the McAlester area and Morris started the Wade Pest Control Company and operated it for several years until finally retiring so he and Anna could start traveling. They also liked to hunt and fish.
Morris is survived by his wife, Anna Lea Wade; three step-sons, Joe Gattenby and his wife, Debbie, Roy Lewis Gattenby and his wife, Shelly, and Terry Gattenby and his wife, Donna; a special niece, Pam Hawkins; grandchildren, Stephen, Kevin, Devin, Amanda and Derek Gattenby; great-grandchildren, Isaijah, Sierra and Jon, and other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Shannon Wade; sister, Barbara Hayes; brother, Arthur Wade, and grandson, Kevin.
