Laura Frances Fabry
Laura Frances (Marshall) Fabry, 95, of McAlester, died on October 3, 2019, in McAlester.
The family will greet friends and visitors from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9, at Chaney's Memorial Chapel.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, at Mount Calvary section of Oak Hill Cemetery.
Frances was born in Hartshorne on August 27, 1924, to Anna Laura (Taylor) Marshall and Randolph Gordon Marshall. The family moved to McAlester when Frances was 4. She attended William Gay Elementary and later graduated from McAlester High School with the Class of 1942.
Frances married Frank Fabry on January 3, 1944, at St. John the Evangelist Church in McAlester. She worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as a telephone operator from 1942 until her retirement in 1975.
Frances was involved with St. John's Catholic Church's Meals on Wheels initiative, Loaves and Fishes Food Program, Ladies Guild, and ladies craft group. She also was co-chairman of all 1942 MHS class reunions.
She enjoyed gardening, genealogy and crafts. She was a volunteer for many years at the Pittsburg County Genealogical Society.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; her parents; brothers, Kenneth and John Marshall, and children, Anna Fabry and David Fabry.
She is survived by her daughter, Rita Bozeman; grandchildren, Stephanie Fabry, Andrew Fabry, Carmen Carter, Michael Carter, Lauren Carter Carpenter, and Holly Wright, and 12 great-grandchildren.
