Wilburton, Oklahoma - Jerry Frank Prock, formerly of Wilburton, passed from this life on February 21, 2020, in Los Angeles, California, due to complications related to a nearly 50-year battle with diabetes. Jerry fought this disease valiantly from the young age of 12, having survived renal failure, a dual kidney and pancreas transplant, and renal failure of the transplanted kidney.

The funeral services will be held at Jones-Harkins Chapel on Saturday, February 29, at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Wilburton.

Pallbearers will be Larry Holt, Marty White, Roger Prock, Lane Jeffrey, Latt Jeffrey and Charles White.

Jerry was born to Frank and Mazel (Martin) Prock on October 27, 1957, at St. Mary's Hospital in McAlester. He spent his early years with the family on the Prock Ranch in Cedars, until the time they moved to Wilburton in the fall of 1962. He attended Wilburton Public Schools and graduated from Wilburton High School in 1975. He then attended Eastern Oklahoma State College, where he earned his associates in accounting, before transferring to Oklahoma State University where he earned his bachelors in accounting. He was a certified public accountant.

He began his career as an auditor with Peat Marwick in Tulsa. He then worked in the roles of accounting manager or controller with the Farm Credit Bureau in Denver, Ryan & Associates in Los Angeles, California, Lyric Corporation in Dallas, Texas, Price Smart in San Diego, California, and as a consultant with Resources Global International in Tulsa and most recently, Los Angeles.

He was an avid sports fan and was a starter on his junior high and high school basketball teams. He had a huge passion for music and was a very talented musician, both vocally and instrumentally, including strings, percussion and harmonica. He also wrote numerous musical pieces. He also had a huge passion for travel and exploration.

Jerry was known to be a most kind-hearted and loving person. He also loved to make people laugh and was known to be somewhat of a comedian.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, John Miller; beloved pets, Rex, Roxie and Rusty; his maternal and paternal grandparents, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He is survived by his sister, Carolyn Prock Miller, of Claremore; brother, Jimmy and partner, Jeff Brown, of Houston, Texas; niece, Kate Miller Turnbough and husband, Tyler, of Owasso; niece, Allison Miller, of Walnut Creek, California, and great-niece and great-nephew, Claire and Colin Turnbough, of Owasso.
