Edith Sarah Byrd, 88, of McAlester, Oklahoma passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at her home. Sarah was born on February 19,1936 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Raymond Fred and Mable E (Ballard) Garr. In 1953, Sarah married Bill Staley. He preceded her in death on April 12, 1984. Sarah enjoyed cooking and baking, fishing for crappie, and eating Mexican food at least once a month. She loved spending time with her pets Bella and Milo. The greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Sarah is survived by: her daughter Joyce Padilla of Sam's Point; special son in law, Louis Padilla; son Jim Staley of Sam's Point; special daughter in law Judy; brother Leon Garr of Oklahoma City; grandchildren Jason Ballard of Canadian, Freedom Medina of McAlester, J.T. Ballard of Heavener, Jeremy Staley and wife Cassandra of Sam's Point, Jon Staley of Sam's Point, Jessica Hobbs and husband Heath of Enid, Joshua Padilla and wife Trisha of Krebs, Jacob Padilla and wife Carly of Krebs, and Jared Padilla and wife Juillive of Krebs; great grandchildren Leighton, Raylene, Melaya, Nathan, Kylee, Kaci, Kambree, Gracie, Hector, Mollee, Railian, Rylee, Gabe, Christian, Izabella, Jasper, Jamie, Maximilia, Archer, Journee, Nellie, Ryan and Nokose; great great grandchildren Peyton and Katie Edith. Sarah is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Bill Staley and Vernon Byrd, a daughter Janet Lee Davis, two great grandchildren Jenna Lee Ann and Jenna Skye, and brothers Lee Garr and Ray "Butch" Garr.
