Dorothy Earlene (Kirkland) Jim, 68, a McAlester, resident, formerly of Tushka, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Krebs
She was born on Thursday, September 20, 1951, to Clifton and Lealer (Carney) Kirkland, in Talihina. She attended Sequoyah High School.
Dorothy was a housewife and homemaker. She married Davis Jim on Saturday, May 18, 1968, in Bentley, They celebrated 51 years of marriage.
Dorothy was a member of First Indian Baptist in McAlester. She was a member of Choctaw Organizations Associations, and was known for being active and supportive in their community.
Davis Austin Jim, 74, a McAlester resident, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, in Tulsa,
Davis was born on Tuesday, January 23, 1945, to Willie and Rena (Sexton) Jim, in Atoka. He attended Bentley School.
Davis was a self-employed landscaper. He married Dorothy Earlene (Kirkland) on Saturday, May 18, 1968, in Bentley. They celebrated 51 years of marriage.
Davis was a member of First Indian Baptist in McAlester. He was a member of Choctaw Organizations Associations, and was well known as being active and supportive in their community.
They are survived by their children, Lori Daney and husband, Gary, of Durant, Sandra "Beard" Jim and boyfriend, Tommy Harjo, of Heavener, Virginia Jim and boyfriend, Luis Guzman, of Stigler, Melissa Kinser and Thomas Cooper, of Poteau, Lealer Arroyo, of McAlester, and Tasha Jim and boyfriend, Ira Paul, of McAlester; grandchildren, Nathaniel Larney, Jaqui Larney, Dustin Larney, Jessica Jim, Latasha Jim, Brandan Beard, Bryan Beard, Queen Hughes, Quentin Jim, Quontez Jim, Quontrael Cleveland, Quarmetrius Jim, Quartaveon Guzman, Michelle Kinser, Oliver Kinser Jr., McKaylaa Kinser, Christian Kinser, Jasmine Kinser, Nikki Jim, Shane Armour, Monique Arroyo, Nicole Arroyo, Anthony Jim, Rosalee Arroyo, Ruben Ortiz, Lluvia Reynoza, Tallulah Arroyo, Jaime Rico Landeros, Issabella Jim, Isaiah Jim, Isalaina Jim, and Isaac Jim; 18 great-grandchildren, and one on the way; Dorothy's sisters, Maudie Stubblefield, Mary Pendergrass and husband, Wayne, and Johnnie Sue Kemp; Dorothy's brothers, Earl Kirkland, and Matthew Kemp, along with other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
They were preceded in death by Dorothy's parents, Clifton and Lealer (Carney) Kirkland; Davis' parents, Willie and Rena (Sexton) Jim; grandchildren, Dominique Kinser, Austin Kinser, and Joey Arroyo; Dorothy's sisters, Ruth Cummins, and Hestor Gardner; Dorothy's brothers, Merle Kirkland, and Hubert Kemp; Davis's brothers, Joseph Jim, and Willie Jim Jr., and Davis's sisters, Rita Jim, Mary Jim, Martha Jim, Nancy Dodson, and Eliza Jim.
Family night will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Brown's Funeral Service of Atoka.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 13, at Brown's Chapel in Atoka. Brother Gary Daney will officiating. Burial will be at Macedonia Indian Cemetery in Bentley. Arrangements are under the direction of Brown's Funeral Service of Atoka,
Pallbearers will be J.J. Carney, Quontrael Cleveland, Quentin Jim, Quontez Jim, Luis Guzman, Christian Kinser, Tommy Harjo, Richard Large, Ira Paul, Cody Corrales, Randall Sam and Donald McCosar.
Honorary pallbearers will be Quarmetrius Jim, Quartaveon Guzman, Isaiah Jim and Oliver Kinser.
