Deaneys "Dean" Wayne Weeks Jr. entered into eternal rest surrounded by family on Thursday, December 5, 2019, at St Francis Hospital in Tulsa.
Dean was born on August 26, 1954, in Miami, Florida, to Wayne Weeks Sr. and Kathleen Weeks. He graduated high school in Sitka, Alaska in 1972 and married Darlene Mizell in Charleston, South Carolina in 1979, after a brief stint in the United States Coast Guard.
He worked as an emergency medical services driver for a few years, was a volunteer Charleston police officer for right years, and was a civil service welder for 30 years before retiring in McAlester. He then took up locksmithing for the last seven years of his life. This was both a hobby and a job he enjoyed.
He was also a Mason for 35 years. Dean enjoyed playing poker and spending time with his grandkids.
He is survived by his three children, Amber Walsh and her husband, Nathan, Deaneys Wayne Weeks III and his wife, Kellie, and Whitney Robbins and her husband, Terry Robbins II; six grandchildren, Christopher (19), Brayden (8), Trey (8), Ashley (5), Joseph (4) and Avery (8 weeks), and his brother, Robert Weeks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Deaneys Wayne Weeks Sr. and Kathleen Weeks, and sister, Donna Lucs.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, December 12, to reminisce, grieve, celebrate his life and support one another. Services will follow at 6 p.m. on Thursday, December 12, at First Assembly of God Church in McAlester with the Rev. Jerry Burnside officiating.
