C.H.  Isom
C.H. "Copas" Isom, 86, a lifetime Daisy area resident that had lived the past six years in Hartshorne, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2019, in Talihina.
Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Brumley-Mills Funeral Service of McAlester.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18, at Brumley-Mills Chapel in McAlester, with Craig Winquist Isaac officiating. Burial will be at Billy Cemetery in Daisy. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brown's Funeral Service of Atoka.
He was born on Tuesday, March 7, 1933, to Charley and Anginora (Billy) Isom, in Daisy. He attended Goss School.
He married Lillian Nadine (Fite) on July 6, 1955, in McAlester. They have enjoyed 64 wonderful years of marriage.
C.H. worked for the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority for 22 years as a maintenance worker, heavy equipment operator and truck driver.
C.H. was also a rancher, and Fire Chief for Daisy Fire Department. He was instrumental in getting the first new fire truck and the fire station/community center built in Daisy.
C.H. was an avid hunter and fisherman. One of his greatest accomplishments was when he gave his life to the Lord in January 2017 and was baptized in the Canadian River, north of McAlester. But the highlight of his life was when his great-grandson, Jayden Preston Baker, was born.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Nadine Isom, of the home; daughter, Debra Ludlow and husband, Rick, of Daisy; granddaughter, Nakita Baker and husband, Jason, of San Antonio, Texas; grandson, Erik Ludlow, of Daisy; great-grandson, Jayden Baker, of San Antonio, Texas; sister, Alice Hutson, of Daisy; sister-in-law, Noreene Isom, of Daisy; foster daughter, Linda Burleson, of McAlester; special great-nieces, Jaime Horstman and husband, Scott, of Hartshorne, and Charlotte Kindred, of Daisy, along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charley and Anginora (Billy) Isom; brothers, Frank Page, Clarence "Bob" Page, Adolphus "Dugan" Isom and Monroe "Jay" Isom; sisters, Opal Burleson, Audrey Burleson and Virginia Stout; grandfather, Indian Territory Judge, Isaac Billy; grandmother, Emily Meshia Billy; grandfather and grandmother Isom, and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Speakers will be Tyler Harbor, Suzie Smith, Scott Horstman and Jaime Horstman.
Pallbearers will be Al Wicks, Clarence Segar, Gary Jackson, Roger Crocker, Owen Kellogg and Erik Ludlow.
Honorary pallbearers will be his nieces and nephews, Louis Robberts, Larry Burleson, Rick Isom, Gladys Kelly, Dan Isom, Eddie Isom, John Burleson, Ron Stout, Ramona Lucas, Tom Isom, Fred Isom, Kevin Isom, Donna McSpadden, Wendy Wyrick, Janet Kirkes, Justin Fite, Jodi Vega, Jason Fite, Jarod Fite, Steven Fite Jaime Horstman, Charlotte Kindred, Tracy Halloway.
