Vonni Lee Littrell, 62, of Sarasota, Florida, passed away Monday, March 6, 2017, at Tidewell Hospice.
Vonni was born in Pascagoula, Mississippi, on Oct. 21, 1954, the daughter of Dorothy Jolee Marie Taplin. She lived in Dalhart, Texas during her early years.
Vonni was baptized in 1969 at the "Peace on Earth" International Convention at Dodger Stadium on July 18, 1969, in Los Angeles, California.
She met the love of her life, Talbert Allan Littrell, on July 13, 1972, in Little Rock, Arkansas, at the "Divine Rulership" District Convention. They were married on Sept. 30, 1972, Allan and Vonni raised their five children, Kerri, Sherri, Terri, Timothy and Thomas, in McAlester.
Vonni enjoyed dancing, drawing and spending time with her family. She was outgoing with the sassy personality to match. She was know as "mom" to all the kids in the neighborhood. She enjoyed taking road trips with her mother on her Semi. She was a skilled laminator and made bookmarks, scripture keepers and tract holders. She was also known as being a great baker of bread.
She dedicated her life to Jehovah God at the age of 15 and remained one of Jehovah's Witnesses throughout her life. Her faith about the resurrection hope was very strong and was well known to all who were around her.
Vonni is survived by her husband, Talbert Allan Littrell; daughters, Kerri Routledge and husband, Ryan Stilwell, of Sarasota, Florida, Sherri Littrell, of McAlester, and Terri Estrada and husband, George Estrada, of McAlester; sons, Timothy Littrell, of Bradenton, Florida, and Thomas Littrell and fiancé, Heather Harper; grandsons, Robert Littrell, Dacota Estrada, Jacob Estrada, Dmitry Routledge and Justin Littrell; granddaughters, Denisha Kruse and husband, Ryan Kruse, Katie Estrada, and Patience Littrell; great-grandsons, TJ Kruse and Kannon Kruse; sisters, Merri Morningstar and Jolee Harmon; brother, Michael Houren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by both grandparents, Clark and Nellie Taplin, and her mother, Dorothy Jolee Marie Taplin.
Services will be at 3 p.m. CST, Sunday, March 12, at McAlester Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
