Vickie Diann Ferden, 61, of McAlester, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017, with her daughters by her side. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 30, at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home from 6 to 7 p.m. Graveside funeral services will be Wednesday, May 31, at 3 p.m. at Ash Creek Cemetery with her uncle, Harry Oneth, giving the eulogy. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Kirk, Adam McKimmy, Eugene Kirk, Mike Thomas, Dual Ray Jenson and Chris Miller. Vickie was born on June 9, 1955, in McAlester to J. D. and Margie (Quick) Oneth. She grew up here and graduated from McAlester High School in 1973. She spent most of her life taking care of those dearest to her, including her three children and, most recently, her mother, Margie Oneth, who passed away in April. It was something she loved to do. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and cooking, especially for her eight grandchildren. Her final act of caring for others saved three strangers through her organ donations. Vickie is survived by her three children, son, Jason Kirk, of McAlester, and daughters, Jamie McKimmy and husband, Adam, and Carrie Ferden, both of Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jason "Butch" Oneth. In lieu of flowers, donations for expenses would be greatly appreciated by the family.
