Thomas A. Bradley Jr., 71, died Wednesday morning, May 31, 2017, in McAlester.
His funeral services will be on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Bishop Chapel of Memories with burial at Indianola Cemetery. Officiating will be by the Rev. Steve Eldridge. The family will greet friends at Bishop Funeral Home today between 6 and 8 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Rowdy Blackmon, Dakota Blackmon, Zachary Merrell, Monty Merrell, James Bradley and Jamie Eldridge.
Tom was born on April 27, 1946, in McAlester, to Thomas A. Sr. and Lenora Hines Bradley. He attended grade school and graduated from McAlester High School.
Thomas then joined the United States Army where he served as a drill sergeant during Vietnam.
His career was as a draftsman for Meeco Marines. He also worked as manager for the Ben Franklin Store.
He was of the Baptist faith, was a deacon and also taught Bible study.
Thomas enjoyed woodworking, dancing at the Veterans of Foreign Wars and was good at playing guitars.
He married Carolyn Sue Kelley at the New Hope Free Will Baptist Church in Indianola.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Mark Merrell, of McAlester; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Debra Thomas III, of Crowder; his father, Thomas Bradley Sr., of Indianola; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty Sneed, of Indianola, Ruth Ann and Larry Glenn, of Hugo, and Nancy Kaye and Danny Williams, of Canadian Shores; a brother and sister-in-law, Phillip and Pat Bradley, of Indianola; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lenora Bradley; his wife, Carolyn Sue Bradley, and a nephew, Phillip Bradley II.
