Shirley's Story

Shirley Sylviadene Anne Adams of McAlester died Thursday, May 11, 2017 at the Cornerstone Hospital in Muskogee at the age of 80.
Shirley was born July 2, 1936 in Brentwood, Arkansas to James and Flossie (Lindenberry) Coy. Shirley married Franklin Adams on October 6, 1958 in Phoenix, AZ. Shirley worked as a seamstress for Henson Kicknick and Komar Manufacting Companies until her retirement in 1992.
She is survived by her sons, Doug Adams and wife, Janhi of Livingston, TX and Shelby Adams and wife, Jimmye of Congress, AZ; daughters, Selma Turpin and Chris Morris of McAlester, Edith Pryor and husband, Nick of McAlester, Shirley Bolien of McAlester and Sylvia Hals and husband, David of Quapaw
Brother, James Edward Coy and wife, Betty of Hartshorne; sisters, Betty Sue McDaniel of Longtown and Billie McDaniel of Kirkland, AZ
Nineteen Grandchildren; Thirty Great Grandchildren and other family and friends.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, James and Flossie Coy; husband, Franklin Adams in 2006; infant daughter, Francis Adams; brother, D.C. Coy; and sisters, Edna Skaggs, Beulah Wilson and Grace Goss.
The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday May 19, 2017 at the Bache Red Oak Cemetery Pavilion in Bache with James Coy officiating. Interment will follow.
Pallbearers will be: Steven Adams, Kevin Jewell, Randy Johnson, Shelby Brown, Jr. Izieak Adams and Josh Williams.
