Ronnie's Story

Ronnie Walker, 67, of McAlester, died at his home on Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017.
The family will greet friends today at Bishop Funeral Service between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Services will be on Thursday, Sept. 14, at Bishop Chapel of Memories at 2 p.m. officiated by the Rev. Chip Lott and Bryan Pain. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Allen Corder, Danny McAffee, Chris Kay Jr., Curtis Baker, Wayne Grogan, Tim Owens and Larry Wilson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Walker, James Simmons, Sammy Duncan, Jimmie Corder, Ken Doyle, John Sidney Doyle, Dale Mackey, James Mackey, Mike Mackey, Lance McAffee, Wesley Corder, Harvey Eller, Junior Eller, Roy Justice and the Men's Group and Sunday School Class at Calvary Baptist Church.
He was born in McAlester on Aug. 24, 1950, to James V. and Martha Mackey Walker. He attended schools in Midwest City and Kiowa and graduated from Kiowa High School.
Ronnie was married to Glenda Corder on June 3, 1972, in McAlester. Ronnie worked for the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority for some 26 years before retiring.
He served as an ordained deacon at Second Baptist Church for many years and later became a member at Calvary Baptist Church. He was a member of a men's prayer group that met weekly from all over McAlester.
Ronnie enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and family. He had a love for Jesus, his family, and a love for his fur babies, and lead a life of integrity. He enjoyed raising Weimaraner and Yorkie dogs.
Survivors include his wife, Glenda Walker, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Shonda and Bryan Pain, of Duncan; one son, Clint Allen Walker, of Larkspur, Colorado; a sister, Carolyn Walker, of Kiowa; five grandchildren, Raylee Pain, Morgan Pain, Isaac Pain, Caden Walker and Kimber Walker; brother-in-law and spouse, Allen and Kitty Corder, of McAlester; special close friend, Jacob Lott, of McAlester; special aunt and uncle, Dot and Dale Mackey, and his dogs, Missie, Crickett and Dolly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Glenn W. Corder and Eva Marie Corder.
In Lieu of flowers the family wishes that memorials go to the Ponderosa Retreat Summer Camp, 15235 South Furrow Road, Larkspur, CO, 80118, where he and his wife volunteered, or to the charity of your choice.
