Robert "Bob"'s Story
Robert "Bob" Marshall, of Blanco, died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017, at McAlester Regional Health Center at the age of 70.
Bob was born on Dec. 5, 1946, in Berlin, New Hampshire, to Walter Smith Marshall Jr. and Hattie Regina (Denoris) Marshall.
Bob joined the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War.
Following his military service, he became an air traffic controller and instructor for the Federal Aviation Administration.
He is survived by his children, William Walter Marshall and wife, Crystal, of McAlester, Melissa Irene Rollings and husband, Richard, of Blanco, and Alexus Hattie Alanbach, of Yukon; nine grandchildren, Johnathan Joseph, Brooke Ross, Zach Marshall, Zane Marshall, Mackinzee Irene Kelly, Kennedy Zada Ross, Izaiah Anthony Ross, Wyatt Alanbach, and Hunter Alanbach; brothers, Wally Marshall, Ron Marshall and wife, Elaine, and Ray Marshall and wife, Kathryn; sisters, Linda Marshall, Carol Bruce, and Brenda Jones, and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Zada Irene Marshall, and his parents.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Chaney's Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Willie Virdin officiating. Cremation will follow.
Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Rollings, Buck Phifer, Chad Kelly, Destiny LeFlore and Leon Cable.
