Patsy Schoggins, 83, of McAlester, died Saturday, July 22, 2017, at St. John's Medical Center in Tulsa.
Funeral services were today July 25, at 10 a.m. at Brumley-Mills Chapel with Darren Schoggins officiating.
Burial followed at Blue Cemetery.
Patsy Schoggins was born on March 22, 1934, in Hughes County, near Stuart, to Lester B. and Mary Edna (Pryor) Burns, the youngest of nine children. She grew up in the Stuart area and graduated from Stuart High School in 1951.
She married Ben Schoggins on June 22, 1952, in Amarillo, Texas, and at that time they made their home in Pittsburg County. Early on, Patsy worked at the phone company office in Stuart. She later worked at Sears for 11 years and then at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant for over 22 years. She also worked, off and on, at Woods Drug Store and at Seamprufe.
In her spare time she loved doing crossword puzzles and sewing, making clothes for her family.
She is survived by her husband, Ben Schoggins, of the home; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Benny Dave and Patti Schoggins, of Arpelar, and Mark Schoggins, of McAlester; two daughters and one son-in-law, Pearline Crawford, of Arpelar, and Patricia and Dale Weems, of Jacksonville, Texas. Also, 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her eight siblings.
