Mitzi Karlene Whitney, 41, of Bugtussle, died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016, at her residence.
Mitzi was born to Steven Edward and Carolyn Jean (Noble) Whitney on Sept. 18, 1975, in McAlester. Mitzi grew up in Krebs and graduated from McAlester High School in 1994. She had worked at Oklahoma State Penitentiary before moving to Tulsa where she worked as a jailor for the Tulsa County Sheriff's Department for several years. She also worked private security. She then went to work in the customer service department at Home Depot in Tulsa and as a bar back for the White Crow Tavern.
Mitzi married Carman Williams on Jan. 3, 2011, in Tulsa.
She is survived by wife, Carman Whitney Williams, of the home; parents, Steven and Carolyn Whitney, of Krebs; father-in-law, Bob Williams, of Bugtussle; cousin, Robin Brewer and wife, Tina, of Broken Arrow; sister-in-law, Becky House and husband, Al, of Antlers; sister-in-law, Karen Means and family, of Kansas; other family members including the Noble family of Blocker, the Boevers family of Poteau, and other family members of Nebraska; numerous other family and friends; also her beloved pet dogs, Litl Man, Beauty, C.J. and Penny, and cats, DIGGS, Poppa, Spooky, L.J., and Gracie.
Mitzi was preceded in death by her grandparents, Myron and Eleanor Whitney, and Bill and Helen Noble; a step-grandfather, Clifford Boevers, and mother-in-law, Carol (Alford) Williams.
The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bishop Funeral Service.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bishop Chapel of Memories officiated by the Rev. James Crowson. Burial will follow at Tannehill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Angela Collins, Robin Brewer, Leslie Banks, Waylon Ford-Dorrell, Chris Rice and Derek Eagle.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mitzi's Tulsa family and friends, and members of the White Crow Ladie's Pool League.
