Michael Lee Penix, 62, died on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at Chaney's Memorial Chapel officiated by Roy Elmore.
He was born the son of Herman and Ruby Penix on July 23, 1955, in Kansa City, Missouri. He graduated from Westport High School.
He later joined the United States Air Force.
He worked for American Airlines for 27 years before retiring.
He is survived by sisters, Billie Washington and Betty Bumphus, of McAlester, and Cherri and Robert Bell, of San Diego, California; brothers, James and Gloria Elmore, Roy and Jackie Elmore, Jack Elmore, and Herman Penix Jr., all of Kansas City, Missouri, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Ronald D. Penix and Terry Simms.
