Jesse W. Lott, 76, of rural Scipio, passed from this earth on Thursday, March 23, 2017.
Funeral services are today at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Hugh Lowe Cemetery with the Rev. Fred Morrison officiating.
Pallbearers will be Shawn and Jameson Murray, David, Jacob and Michael Lott, and Stan Butler.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Butler, Vernon Collier, Lee Epps and Virgil Lott.
Jesse was born on Sept. 2, 1940, to Waldo and Effie Lott in Scipio. He graduated from Indianola High School.
He served in the National Guard. He worked construction, helping to built McAlester Regional Health Center, as well as some of McAlester's schools.
He farmed peanuts for many years saying, he "felt closer to God while plowing the earth". Jesse was an avid follower of Les Feldick ministries.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy, of the home; brother, Roy Lott; sons, Wade and Tawania Lott, Chip and Lisa Lott, and Kevin and Charla Crawley; daughters, Penny and Gary Barlow, Kellie and David Cantrell, Judy Mack, Sherry Hernandez, and Dana Kay; grandchildren, Lindsey and Logan Lott, Shawn, Jameson and Bridget Murray, Ryan, Jennifer and Hope Crawley, Nevaeh Hernandez, Ashley Adams, and David Gilpin; great-grandchildren, Morgan Murray, and Giovani Perez; sisters-in-law, OIeta Lott, Joann Lott, and Twyla Young, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, Waldo and Effie Lott; brothers, Vernon, Burton, Calvin, Dave, Elbert, George, and Glover, and sisters, Brine West, Della Mae Butler, Ruby Young, Jewell Smithson, and Bernice Goodspeed.
