Jerrie Rowell, 57, of McAlester, died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017, at her home.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at The King's House with Pastor Jay Hurt officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.
Jerrie Rowell was born on Dec. 2, 1959, in McAlester, to Dale and Mary (Henry) Kay. She grew up here and graduated from Savanna High School in 1978. She then attended dental hygiene school in Tulsa for two years.
After a short time working in a dental office, she decided to return to the family business, Kay's Meat Processing, where she was still working.
Jerrie was a devoted member of the New Life 313 Church and taught Sunday school there. Next to her church work, the most important thing in her life was her family, and she particularly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Harold Rowell, of the home; children, Sean Brooks Rowell, of McAlester, Tuesday Lynn Rowell, of McAlester, and Angel Monique Saltis and husband, Jarrod, of McAlester; grandchildren, Audrie Brook Rowell, Chloe Darlene Sproles, Avery Tatumn Rowell, Kelsie Dawn Rowell, Marlie Lynn Saltis, and Cason Dean Rowell; her mother, Mary Kay, of McAlesteR; sister and brother-in-law, Gale Kay Wilson and husband, Ed, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; brother and sister-in-law, Chris Kay and wife, Dana, of McAlester, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Jerrie was preceded in death by her father, Dale Kay; a nephew, Aaron Wilson, and grandparents, Earl and Eula Henry, and Ellis and Irene Kay.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Kay, Archie Vaughn, Johnathon Wilson, Justin Russell and Brandon Vaughn.
Honorary pallbearers will be Marty Kay, Charles "Bubba" Rowell, Justin Russell, Cody Wilson and Colton Wilson.
