Jason A. Sylvester, 38, of Moore, died Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, in Moore.
The family will receive friends at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home today from 5 to 6 p.m.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, at Brumley-Mills Chapel. Burial will be at Crowder Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.
Jason A. Sylvester was born on Dec. 19, 1979, in Georgetown, Texas. He grew up in Crowder with his parents, Leslie and Doris Sylvester, and graduated from Crowder High School in 1999.
He married Ashley D. Prince in March 2001.
He joined the United States Army in 2001 and served several tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and received his honorable discharge in 2012.
He had been working for J.B. Hunt Transport Company as an account manager for the last several years. He recently received the Account of the Year award for 2016.
Survivors include his wife, Ashley D. Sylvester, of the home; two sons, Andrew J. Sylvester and Jacob C. Sylvester; mother, Doris Sylvester, of McAlester; three brothers and one sister-in-law, Steve and Karen Sylvester, of Texas, Randy Sylvester, of McAlester, and Terry Capps, of Texas; uncle, Harold Sylvester, of Texas; parents-in-law, James and Ruth Prince, of Indianola; brother-in-law, Jimmy Prince; grandmother-in-law, Mary Prince, of Indianola, and he also is survived by Cindy Hayworth.
Jason was preceded in death by his father, Leslie Sylvester, and in-laws, William F. Prince and Thomas Franklin "Tommy" Prince.
