Harold's Story

Harold Buck Jones, 80, of Arpelar, died Saturday, May 6, 2017, at a local nursing center in McAlester.
The family will greet friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bishop Funeral Service.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday at Arpelar Church of the Nazarene officiated by the Rev. Charles Jones. Burial will follow at Arpelar Cemetery.
Buck was born to Malcolm "Mack" Everett and Vera (Riddle) Jones on Nov, 25, 1936. Buck graduated from Stuart High School in 1954.
He married Frances Elaine McClendon on Oct. 11, 1957, in Arpelar.
He worked for Moncrief, Co-op and Hatters Feed Mill before working as a farmer and rancher. Buck enjoyed fishing, especially with his brother, Charles.
Buck is survived by a daughter, Pamela Elaine West and husband, Eric, of Stuart; grandchildren, Krystle Orr and husband, Jeremy, of Stuart, and Jeff West and wife, Ashley; great-grandchildren, Payton Bennett, Janson West, Riley West, Turner West, Jaxton Countz and Braxton Countz; brothers, Glenn Jones and wife, Carol, of Arpelar, and the Rev. Charles Jones and wife, Barbara, of Fort Worth, Texas; sisters-in-law, Ann Jones, of McAlester, Georgia Ann Hearod and husband, Bob, of McAlester, Jo Sanders and husband, Freddie, of McAlester, and Anita McClendon, of Arpelar; brother-in-law, Simp McClendon and wife, Carol, of Muskogee, and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
Buck was preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Vera Jones; his wife, Frances Jones, in 2011; a brother, James "Jim" Jones; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edgar and Lorene McClendon, and brother -in-law, Billy McClendon.
Pallbearers will be Frankie McClendon, Eddie Sanders, Billy Lynn McClendon, Sammy McClendon, Robert Dalton, a special friend, and Jeremy Orr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Simp McClendon and Freddie Sanders.
Arrangements are entrusted to Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory of McAlester.
