Glenn Ray Jones, 77, of Arpelar, died Sunday, July 9, 2017, at his residence.
The family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Bishop Funeral Service.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 12, at Arpelar Church of the Nazarene officiated by the Rev. Bart Patterson. Burial will follow at Arpelar Cemetery,.
Pallbearers will be Edmond Shropshire, Richard Shropshire, Farrel Cunningham, Glen Davis, Dennis Farmer and Eric West.
Honorary pallbearers will be Paschal Eubanks, Dale Sutterfield, Bill Loud, Bobby Shropshire, Glenn Ellison and Jason Smith.
Memorial contributions may be made to Arpelar Church of the Nazarene or the Arpelar Cemetery.
Glenn was born to Malcom Everett "Mack" and Vera (Riddle) Jones August 1, 1939 in McAlester. Glenn attended Stuart Schools and graduated in 1957. He then attended Eastern Oklahoma State College before serving in the United States Army Reserve.
Glenn worked for Culligan as the "Culligan Man" delivering water softeners and purifiers out of Ada. He then worked for the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant for 17 years. He worked as a ranch foreman for McCarty ranch for several years before selling real estate with Kelly Realtors.
Glenn married Carolyn Ellison on Aug. 27, 1983, at the Arpelar Nazarene Church.
He attended Arpelar Nazarene Church and served the church in many capacities.
Glenn was also an Arpelar Cemetery board member and was responsible for locating and marking graves for burials.
He loved attending his grandchildren's sporting events and supported the Stuart Hornets sports teams.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Carol Jones, of the home; daughter, Robin Galloway and husband, Doug; sons, Randy Jones, of Perry, Rodney Jones, of McAlester, Dale Ellison and wife, Jessica, of Whitefield, and Curtis Ellison, of Elk City; grandchildren, Chris Jones and wife, Mari, Miranda Jones, Matthew Jones, Garry Meadows and wife, Bri, Douglas Galloway and wife, Heather, Serena Luper and husband, Brandon, Carley Galloway, Levi Ellison and wife, Jacqueline, Montana Ellison, Charish Ellison, Callie Ellison, Jordan Rodgers and husband, Hunter, Korbin Ellison, Easton Ellison and Alissa; great-grandchildren, Madison Jones, Corbin Jones, Douglas Lee Galloway III, Bentley Reynolds, Suttyn Reynolds, Carley Reynolds and Holden Rae Rodgers; brother, the Rev. Charles Jones and wife, Barbara, of Fort Worth, Texas; sister-in-law, Ann Jones, of McAlester; brother-in-law, Donald Shepard and wife, Judy, of Payson, Illinois, and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Vera Jones; a son, Ricky Jones; brothers, Jim Jones and Harold "Buck" Jones, and sister-in-law, Frances Jones.
