Estelle Irene Jernigen, 90, of McAlester, died Monday, April 17, 2017, in McAlester.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 21, at Brumley-Mills Chapel with Chaplain David Jordan officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Estelle Jernigen was born on Jan. 26, 1927, in Bryant, to Jess and Susie Mattie (Green) Thompson. After graduating from high school she attended nursing college and earned certification as a licensed practical nurse.
She enjoyed quilting and gardening and loved to spend time with her family at reunions each summer, and everyone visiting the family farm.
Survivors include daughters, Carolyn Laudermilk and Donna Barlow; sons, Larry Jernigen, David Ronald Jernigen and wife, Debbie, and Charlie Jernigen and wife, Debbie; step-daughters, Charlene Evans and husband, Harrell, and Evelyn Crumbley; siste, Edna Cathey; brother, Haskell Thompson; 22 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren, and step-daughter-in-law, Sue Jernigen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Charlie Lee Jernigen; her second husband, Clifford Erving Brown; stepsons, Fred Jernigen and Ralph Jernigen, and four brothers and four sisters.
Pallbearers will be Terry Laudermilk, Randy Laudermilk, Kevin Barlow, Samuel Jernigen, Chuck Jernigen and Jeremy Jernigen.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jesse Jernigen, David Evans, Donny Evans and Jeff Crumbley.
