Emogene "Jean"'s Story
Emogene "Jean" Smith, 82, of McAlester, died Monday, Jan. 16, 2017, at Heritage Hills Nursing Home.
Jean was born Dec. 29, 1934, in Sallisaw, to John and Cora (Roberts) Sizemore. Jean was fortunate to have always been a stay at home mom. She had a wonderful happy life as a wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother.
She was very active at the senior center and a faithful member of the Savanna Assembly of God.
She is survived by her four children, Donna Gordon and husband, Don, of Waxahachie, Texas, Carol Reeves and husband, Wayne, of Savanna, Tonya Patton and husband, Robbie, of McAlester, and Mike Timmons and wife, Mia, of McAlester; grandchildren, Travis Gordon, Daniel Glover, Tiffani Patton, Tara Walters, Kristi Patton, Monica Chilton, D.J. Timmons, Madi Timmons and Preston Timmons; four great-grandchildren; special friend, Millie McClain, and other family and friends.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Timmons, in 1995; husband, Richard Smith, in 2015; parents, John and Cora Sizemore; three brothers, and three sisters.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, at Chaney's Memorial Chapel with the Rev. James Crowson officiating. Interment will follow at Blanco Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Preston Timmons, D.J. Timmons, Harrison Emery, Marc Walters, Daniel Glover, Travis Gordon and Matt Chilton.
Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Patterson, Tyler Belt, Ashley Fairchild, Lois Kannady and residents and staff of Heritage Hills Nursing Center.
