Deliath Marie Davis, 85, of McAlester, died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016, in McAlester.
Graveside funeral services are today, Dec. 30, at 2 p.m. at Center Point Cemetery in Wilburton. Arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.
Deliath Davis was born on Oct. 22, 1931, in Ardmore, to Willie Delmar and Grace (Gayle) Hood. When she was young her family moved to Haileyville where Deliath attended school through the eighth grade.
The family then move to Wilburton and Deliath graduated from Wilburton High School.
She married Wayne Eugene "Bus" Davis on Sept. 29, 1952, in Wilburton. Deliath worked at the Congoleum Company in Wilburton then worked at the Wilburton Tag Agency for a number of years and eventually moved to McAlester in her later years.
While in Wilburton, Deliath was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Gayle and Elex Herandy, of McAlester, and Paula and Darrell Gammons, of Searcy, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Jennifer Shelton, Coyt Herandy, Julie Vasquez, RayDawn Henthorn and Lisa Murphy Roby; also several great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Lillian Martin, of Red Oak; two brothers, Dee Hood, of Owasso, and Wade Hood, of Memphis, Tennessee, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, and a granddaughter, Elexis Desiree Herandy.
