Betty Lou Saffell, 77, of McAlester, died Saturday, July 1, 2017, in Oklahoma City.
Betty was born Nov. 9, 1939, in Eufaula, to James and Ella Mae (Johnson) McNatt. She graduated from Eufaula High School in 1958 and then attended Vo-tech.
She worked for over 30 years for Rockwell International and Boeing in McAlester until retirement.
She was of the Pentecostal faith and was a member of the Lighthouse Christian Center in Eufaula.
In recent years she had been attending Northside Assembly of God Church.
Betty was an artist and enjoyed sketching and painting. She liked to travel and especially enjoyed going for drives and exploring "Gods Beautiful Creation". Betty also enjoyed moving and house-hunting.
Betty is survived by a daughter, Tami Peters and husband, Bryan, of Stuart; sons, John Saffell, of Henryetta, and Wes Saffell and wife, Susan, of McAlester; grandchildren, Easton Saffell, Daryn Cowart, Jackson Saffell and wife, Skylar, Jazmine Needham and husband, Marvin, Nathan Logan and Tyler Peters; sister, Peggy Jacobs; brothers, Lester Casey Jr. and Ronnie Casey, and other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Maxine.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m., Friday, July 7, at Bishop Chapel of Memories officiated by the Rev. John Parish. Inurnment will take place at a later date. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons.
