Benjamin Neil Brown Jr., 53, of McAlester, died Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at McAlester Regional Health Center.
Visitation for family and friends will be Sunday July 2, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, July 3, at Brumley-Mills Chapel with Pastor Charles Kerley officiating. Burial will be at Little Cemetery in Seminole.
Benjamin Neil Brown Jr. was born on Oct. 7, 1963, to Benjamin Neil and Glenda Kay (Adams), in Seminole. He moved with his family, as a child, to Hugo, here he received his education and graduated from Hugo High School in 1981.
Benjamin also serve an eight year enlistment in the United States Army from 1981 to 1989, being stationed in Germany.
It was in 1989 he came to McAlester and began his employment with Oklahoma State Penitentiary as a security guard and retired from there after 23 years of service in 2012. He was last employed at Angel's Diner.
He was married to the former Vicki Wilson on Nov. 5, 1992.
Survivors include his wife, Vicki Brown, of the home; children, Joshua, Dustin and Austin Ham, all of McAlester; brothers, Benny Brown, of Seminole, and Dwane Hewitt, of Ada; sister, Marchetta Hurt, of Stigler; mother-in-law, Alice Edwards; sister-in-law, Mickie Wilson; brother and sister-in-law, Eddie and Gayle Wilson, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and cousins, Carla and Chuck Hinds, Fred Reiss and Billy Reiss.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ellen and F.A. Miller; parents, Benjamin and Glenda Brown; brother, Donnie Douglas; sister, Angie Brown; aunt and uncle, Delbert and Ann Reiss; father-in-law, William Edwards; sister-in-law, Linda Miller, and nephews, Keith Williamson and Aaron Wilson.
Pallbearers will be Jordan Ham, Christian Ham, Alick Ham, Billy Reiss, Fred Reiss and Chuck Hinds.
