Albert Terry Thornton, age 86, of Bache, died Monday, May 22, 2017, at his home. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at the Blanco Cemetery Pavilion. Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in Hartshorne. Arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in Hartshorne.
Albert was born March 27, 1931, in Hartshorne to Henry and Josie (Whittaker) Thornton. He married Roseann Helen Kubiski on July 21, 1949, in Hartshorne and they were married for 67 years before her death in February of this year.
He worked in the Potash Mines in Carlsbad, New Mexico for 15 years. He worked at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant from 1965 until his retirement in 1989. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Lawrence Collins of Bache; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Sharon Thornton of Bache; grandchildren and spouses, Albert Thornton and wife, Erin, Sarah Nave and husband, Brian, Bradley Collins, Stephanie Bailey and husband Kris; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Beshear, Brant Nave, Toby Nave, Hadlie Thornton, Brady Thornton; step great-grandchildren, Brady and Aubrey Bailey; brother, Kenneth Thornton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Roseann; parents; son, Stanley Don Thornton; granddaughter, Jennifer Ann Collins; brothers, Jim, Henry, Luke, Wayne, Gene and Walter Thornton and sister, Mary Polley.
