Aaron Joel Mitchell, 41, of Marstetten, Switzerland, died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2017.
He was born on April 29, 1976, to Donnie and Johnnye Mitchell. He graduated from McAlester High School in 1994. He attended ECU and later graduated from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado.
He lived in Bellingham, Washington, for a few years before starting his travels to Taiwan, India and Nepal. While in Nepal, he met his future bride, Ladina Gmur of Marstetten, Switzerland. They married on Feb 9, 2014.
He loved people and everyone loved him. He had friends all over the world.
Though he got his degree in exercise science, he enjoyed working with wood more. He was a talented craftsman.
He is survived by his wife; his parents; his brother, Micah Mitchell of Denver, Colorado; aunts and uncles, Debbie and Billy Layden, Susan and Patrick Patterson, Sharon and Mel Launius, and Diane Mitchell, and numerous cousins and friends.
A Celebration of his Life will be held Saturday, Sept. 9, at 1 p.m. at the Grand Event Center.
