William Floyd "W.F" "Bill" Chapman, 88, of McAlester, died Friday, January 12, 2018, at his residence.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 17, at Bishop Chapel of Memories officiated by Mr. Red Coleman. Burial will follow at Pryor Cemetery in Stuart.
Pallbearers will be Brian Huff, Chap Perkins, Tommy Sommer, Jurney Vicars, Andyn Angeli, Chris Runion and Tim Swearengin.
Honorary pallbearers will be B.J. Allen, Manford Perkins, Al Taylor, Jesse O'Daniel, Russell Angeli and Spencer Gatlin.
Bill was born on October 10, 1929, in Ashland. Bill attended school at Ashland and graduated in 1946. He married his childhood sweetheart, Bettie Ruth Reese, on January 25, 1947, in Sherman, Texas, and they were married for over 64 years until her death in 2011.
Bill barbered for over 47 years with 35 years at the Aldridge Hotel and then at Majestic and in his home. He also owned and operated A-Affordable Storage with his wife, Bettie.
Bill had owned, trained and raced quarter horses and he loved to watch Oklahoma City Thunder Basketball.
He was a member of the Main and Oklahoma Church of Christ.
Bill is survived by daughters, Peggy Perkins and husband, Manford, of Noble, Patsy Sommer, of McAlester, and Becky Chapman-Beall, of McAlester; grandchildren, Brian Huff, of Crowder, Chap Perkins, of Edmond, Buffie Vicars, of Tulsa, Tommy Sommer, of McAlester, Andrea Beall, of McAlester, and Antonia Beall, of McAlester; great-grandchildren, Jurny Vicars, Claudia Beall, Hailey Huff, Andyn Angeli, Patience Sommer, Allison Sommer and Carter Swearengin; brother, Roy Chapman and wife, Bobbie, of McAlester, and Wanda Grubbs, of Sapulpa; special friend, Sharon Chestnut; two nephews, David Chapman, of Ashland, and Don Chapman, of Ashland, and numerous other family members and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Argie (O'Daniel) Tolbert; his wife, Bettie Ruth Chapman, on June 27, 2011, and a son-in-law, Carroll Gene Beall.
