William Harris Barry


William (Bill) Harris Barry, 92, of McAlester, died on Sunday, July 7, 2019, in McAlester.
A Celebration of Life will be on Friday, August 9, at First Baptist Church Chapel at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Kerry Kirkhart officiating.
He was born on November 14, 1926, in Detroit, Michigan, to Clarence Barry and Elizabeth Barry Schmitz
Bill married Irene (Renee) Burow on December 17, 1971.
Bill graduated from McAlester High School together with his son, Bob. They both earned their GEDS on January 18, 1995.
He worked for General Motors and retired from the Michigan School District.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in McAlester for many years.
The family would like to thank special friends, Randy Pendergraph and Erma Dunn, also Dr. Bob and Bill W.
In addition, heartfelt appreciation goes to Heartland Hospice in McAlester, and Chaplain, the Reverend Kerry Kirkhart.
Bill is survived by his wife, Renee, of the home; two daughters, Robyn Coppola and husband, Frank, and Patricia Korotney; stepson, Bruce Burow and wife, Sharon, and nieces and nephews, and grandchildren and great-grandchildren too numerous to mention.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Barry; mother, Elizabeth Barry Schmitz, and stepsons, Bob Burow and Douglas Burow.
