Wesley Dean Fryer Wesley Dean Fryer, formerly of McAlester, died on September 8, 2018, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 55.
Wes was born in Sumter, South Carolina, to Donald Fryer and Marie (Barrett) Fryer, on April 19, 1963.
He joined the United States Air Force on December 15, 1982, and retired early as staff sergeant on November 18, 1994, due to muscular dystrophy.
He married Stacie Smith on November 13, 1995, in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. Together, they raised three children. Wes loved his family and attended every activity for his children. His grandson was one of his greatest joys.
Wes spent many years preaching and relied on his Christian faith.
He enjoyed collecting coins and was an avid fan of classic automobiles. He was a fan of football, especially Oklahoma University. He appreciated a sense of humor and was known for his unpolished jokes. He was highly regarded for the strength he showed despite the adversities he faced.
He is survived by his wife, Stacie Fryer, of Edmond; mother, Marie Glass, of McAlester; father, Donald Fryer, of Muskogee; sons, Joshua Fryer and Jonathan Fryer and fiancé, Miranda Isbell; daughter, Casey Boatman and Michael Robinson; grandson, Luke Robinson; sisters, Tina McMurtrey and husband, Jeff, and Kerri Fryer; brother, James Fryer and wife, Crystal; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lanie and Bonnie Smith, of Alderson; brother-in-law, Michael Smith and wife, Casey, of Edmond, and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Wes was preceded in death by his brother, Chris Fryer.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 13, at 2 p.m. at Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church in McAlester. The burial will follow at Ash Creek Union Cemetery with Tinker Air Force Base providing military honors.
Memorial donations may be made to Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church, Ash Creek Union Cemetery, or the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
