Wesley Garrett Bess, 21, of McAlester, died Wednesday, June 14, 2017, in McAlester.
Wesley Garrett was born to Johnny Franklin Bess and Nadina Ann (Snow) on Nov. 9, 1995, in McAlester. He attended Frink School and McAlester High School.
Wesley Garrett worked laying oilfield pipeline for Advantage.
He enjoyed fishing, riding ATV's and "Riding Coal" with his truck.
He had attended the First Free Will Baptist Church Youth Group.
Wesley Garrett is survived by his father, Johnny F. Bess, of the home; mother, Nadina Hobbs, of McAlester; brothers, Wade Tripp and wife, Hillary, of Indianola, and Trey Hobbs, of McAlester; sister, Jennifer Tripp-McGuire, of McAlester; paternal grandmother, Marcella Bess, of McAlester; cousins, Brance, Lindsey, Cassie, Levi, Jordy, and Dillon, and aunts and uncles, and other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, C.L. Bess Sr.; maternal grandparents, Ed Snow and Marcella Coxsey; uncle, C.L. Bess, Jr., and aunt and uncle, Anita and Ralph Weddle.
The family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Bishop Funeral Service.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 17, at First Free Will Baptist Church. officiated by the Rev. Steve Mayhew. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Lane Grant, Colton Carano, Dakota Snell, Clint Parker, Blake Inman, Todd Summerville, Cory Bicknell, Travis Smart, Garrett Cooper and Zach Patton.
