Walter "Jasper"'s Story
Walter "Jasper" Alvie Mills Jr., 59, of Krebs, formerly of Atoka, died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017, in Tulsa.
Family night will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 15, at Northside Assembly of God Church in McAlester with Pastor Brian Smith officiating. Burial will be at Green Meadows Cemetery in Atoka. Arrangements are under the direction of Brown's Funeral Service of Atoka.
He was born on Sunday, Nov. 2, 1958, to J.B. and L.V. (Griffin) Mills, in Borger, Texas. He attended and graduated from Atoka High School..
Jasper was a maintenance technician.
He married Lisa Lyn (Johnson) on Wednesday, May 25, 2005, in Atoka. They had 12 wonderful years together.
Jasper was of the Pentecostal faith and attended Northside Assembly of God in McAlester.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with and raising his grandchildren.
Jasper is survived by his wife, Lisa Lyn Mills, of the home in Krebs; daughter, Sarah Johnson, of the home in Krebs; grandchildren, Alexander Pemberton-Ames, of Stringtown, Aiden Johnson, of the home in Krebs, Serenitee Pemberton, of the home in Krebs, Elias Pemberton, of the home in Krebs, and Malachy Johnson, of the home in Krebs, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.B. and L.V. Mills; sisters, Nancy Fondren, Patricia Shatto and Bonnie Rushin; brother, Tommy Ingram, and daughter, Morgan Pemberton.
Pallbearers will be Tom Brigger, Franklin Shatto, Adam Rushin, Paul Villareal, Shane Brigger, Lucas Brigger and Dillon Brigger.
Honorary pallbearers will be Terry McCarty, Paul Rush, Bobby Hunt Sr. and Anthony Mills.
