Virginia's Story

Virginia Lee Davis, 94, of Kiowa, died Saturday, February 24, 2018, at a local nursing center.
The family will greet friends at Bishop Funeral Service from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Gospel Lighthouse Church located next to the cemetery in Kiowa with the Rev. Linda Snider officiating. Burial will follow at Kiowa Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Nicholas Davis, Troy Cross, Mike Trammell, Morgan Marks, Bradley Brock and Brad Trammell.
Virginia was born in the Gaither Community to William Oram "Bud" and Clara Ann (Lackey) Williams. She attended grade school in Gaither and then attended Kiowa High School.
She married Troy Elton Cross in 1940, in McAlester. Virginia married Alfred Horm Davis in September 1948 in McAlester. She married Robert Davis in 1971, in Grand Prairie, Texas.
Virginia last worked as a teacher's aide with special needs children in Grand Prairie.
She was a member of Kiowa First Assembly of God Church.
Virginia enjoyed children, bible study and listening to all kinds of gospel music.
Survivors include sons and spouses, Elton Ray and Ruby Cross, of Murphy, Texas, and Marjoe Wayne and Linda Davis, of Anderson, South Carolina; brother, Royal Williams and wife, Juanita, of Pittsburg; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her step-children with Robert Davis, Jack, Robert, Ellen, Janet and Joanne, and numerous other family members and friends.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her three husbands; her daughter, Celia Ann Trammell; son-in-law, Hoyt Trammell, and one brother, Loyal Williams.
