Shirley (Painter) Kardokus, 74, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017, in McAlester.
Viewing will be Monday from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Chaney's Memorial Chapel. Burial will be at Tannehill Cemetery.
She was born May 4, 1943, to Jody and Dorothy (Botts) Painter. She graduated in 1960 and loved to travel.
She had three biological children, Samuel Cole, Sherry (Cole) Avery and husband, Doug, and Derrick Allen and wife, Lisa; grandchildren, Kaci and Jordan Avery, and Amanda (Allen) Smith and husband, James. Also, daughter, Alisha (Allen) Crow and husband, Delton, and daughter, Chelsey (Hickey) Ridenour and husband, Billy, and six great-grandchildren.
She also had several step-children that she considered biological, Marie and Kenny Adams, and children, Kris, Tessa, Piper and Troy, Jenifer and Janet Kardokus.
Survived by brother, Jimmy Painter and wife, Carol; sisters, Joann (Painter) Thomason and husband, Jimmy, and Brenda (Painter) Hembrock, and a step-sister, Kellie (Cunningham) Johnson and husband, Will.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Jeannie Painter and Donna Painter; brother, Mike Painter; husband, Earl Markland; son, Sam Cole; step-son, Troy Kardokus; nephews, Jerry Lynn Dobbs and Heath Kinnamon, and step-grandson, Cody Adams.
