Shirley Morris, 71, of McAlester, passed this world with Jesus on Friday, June 23, 2017, at a local nursing facility.
The family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, June 27, at Bishop Funeral Service.
Graveside funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, at Arpelar Cemetery Pavilion officiated by the the Rev. Keith Kinnamon. Burial will follow.
Shirley was born on May 26, 1946, in McAlester, and attended school in McAlester. She married Richard Morris on June 10, 2005, in McAlester, and was a lifelong resident of Pittsburg County.
She worked at Komar for 26 years. Shirley also worked as a home health provider.
She attended Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Shirley loved fishing, sewing and loved all kinds of animals.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Morris, of McAlester; step-daughters, Jackie Watkins, of Sand Springs, Vicky Catlett, of Tulsa, and JeaNell Henson, of Sand Springs; step-son, James (Morris) Gooding, of McAlester; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and three special friends, Judy Morris, Susan Johnson and Twyla Young.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Gary King.
