Shirley Lenora (Burch) McGuire, 80, of Krebs, died Friday, April 21, 2017, in McAlester.
The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bishop Funeral Service.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, at Bishop Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Mike Farris officiating. Burial will be at Bache-Red Oak Cemetery.
Shirley was born on Dec. 2, 1936, in Nowata, to Robert Burch and Hazel (Dildine) Burch. She grew up in and around the Collinsville area.
She met and later married Oscar Leo McGuire on Feb. 23, 1952, in Collinsville. Together they had 10 children, five boys and five girls.
Most of her early life, Shirley was a homemaker. After moving to McAlester in 1974, she began working as a sewing machine operator at Komar Sewing Factory. Many will remember her sweet smile and spirit as a deli clerk at Winn-Dixie until she finally retired.
Survivors include her five sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Freda McGuire, of Alderson, Darrell and Rita McGuire, of Keota, Bruce and Natalie McGuire, of High Hill, Dale and Mary McGuire, of Haileyville, and Shawn and Lovetta McGuire, of Krebs.
Five daughters and sons-in-law, Vicky and Carl Lewis, of Bache, Brinda and John Garvin, of Alderson, Julie and Clyde Scott, of Cabiness, Kimberlee and Michael Gryder, of Tulsa, and Sheila and Jack Armstrong,, of Haileyville.
Six sisters and brothers-in-law, Buelah Hunter, of Collinsville, Louise Spencer, of Owasso, Betty Nash, of Collinsville, LaDonna DeArmond, of Collinsville, Linda and Paul Goodhue, of Tulsa, and Sandra and John Hunt, of Collinsville. One brother and two sisters-in-law, Donald and Kathy Burch, of Collinsville, and Shirley Burch, of Collinsville. Shirley was blessed with 27 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Chris McGuire, Waylon Lewis, Nick McGuire, Jason McGuire, Anthony Smart, Phillip McGuire, Derek McGuire, James Garvin and Lyndon Armstrong.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Billy Lewis, Scott McGuire, Patrick McGuire, Michael McGuire and Chase McGuire.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Hazel Burch, and brothers, Robert Lee, James Elisha, Benjamin Earl and Roy Gene. One sister, Scarlett Jean. Four great-grandchildren, Colt Cash, and Sadie Renee, Brittini Lynn, and Brandon James, and a special friend, Tony "Pops" Santino.
