Graveside services for Roger Dale Elliott, 72, of Ada, formerly of Kiowa, will be at 3:30 p.m. today at Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Toby Willoughby officiating.
Mr. Elliott died Friday, Nov. 3, 2017, at his home.
He was born Sept. 14, 1945, to Paul Judson 'Jud' and Mary Ethel Gambrell Elliott, in Ada. He graduated from Latta School and East Central University.
During his younger years he participated in rodeo.
Mr. Elliott was a basketball coach and teacher at Tupelo, Kiowa and Latta schools. He was a successful coach at each school and was selected as an All-State coach.
He was a member of Morris Memorial Baptist Church and had served in the United States Army Reserve.
He and Londa Beth McLaughlin were married on Aug. 8, 2008, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
Survivors include his wife, Londa, of the home; his son, Dr. Jeffery Dale Elliott and wife, April, of Ada; his daughter, Kelly Leah Elliott, of Ada; two brothers, Paul Elliott and wife, Joan, and Jerry Elliott and wife, Jeanne; five grandchildren, Chandler Elliott, Ethan Elliott, Avery Elliott, Novalee Elliott and Chloe Haller, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Robert Ray Elliott.
Pallbearers will be Rickey Eaton, Chandler Elliott, Ethan Elliott, Avery Elliott, Ray Elliott and Donnie Elliott.
Honorary pallbearer is Brad Lancaster.
