Robert "BeBob" Rice, 65, of Pittsburg, passed away at his home on Monday, Dec. 11, 2017.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, at Pittsburg Baptist Church with the Rev. James Crowson officiating. Burial will follow at Pittsburg Cemetery.
BeBob was born on Dec. 16, 1951, in McAlester, to Warren G. Hardin and Gladys Katherine (Rush) Rice. He graduated from Pittsburg High School and later entered the United States Army, serving a tour in Germany.
He worked in construction and later at the McAlester Army Ammunitions Plant. For a number of years, he was a volunteer with the Pittsburg Fire Department.
BeBob enjoyed traveling, spending time with his dogs and watching The Voice. He also had a collection of Louis Lamar books and loved to read.
He is survived by his son, Jace Blain Rice, of Kiowa; daughter, Dusty Deon Rice, of Odessa, Texas; brothers, Jimmy Rice and wife, Carol, George Rice and wife, Elaine, and Ronnie Rice and wife, Debbie, all of Pittsburg; sisters, Melba Keck and husband, Wayne, of Ada, and Katherine Sue Hass, of McAlester, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; niece, Christina Rice; nephew, Gabriel Marshall, and great-nieces and great-nephews, Seven Kenney, Casey Brannon, Matthew Rice and Hank Brown.
