Richard Donald Casey Sr., 80, of Eufaula, passed away on Monday, Sept. 11, 2017, at Jack C. Montgomery VA Center in Muskogee.
Richard was born on Jan. 26, 1937, in Phoenix, Arizona, to Wade Claremon and Willie (Duke) Casey. He lived and attended school at Crowder until the age of 12 and then attended Canadian Public Schools.
Richard enlisted in the United States Army on March 22, 1960, and was honorably discharged on Feb. 28, 1966, receiving a Good Conduct Medal.
On July 28, 1962, he married Janet Elizabeth Pirtle in Eufaula. They were happily married for over 55 years. He owned and operated Red Carpet Rental Services.
Richard was a member of the First Apostolic Church in Longtown.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Casey, of the home; son, Richard Casey Jr., of Sayre; daughters, Regina Casey, of Eufaula, Tammy Rogers and husband, Stanley Jr., of Crowder, and Janetta Klutts and husband, Stanley, of Okemah; eight grandchildren, Larry Williams, Megan Grey, Richard Casey III, Sage Klutts, Cheyenne Klutts, Nicholas Casey, Gus Klutts and Dalton Rogers, and six great-grandchildren, Alexia McCoy, Landon Grey, Emilee Grey, Mattie Grey, Keaton Givens and Karsyn Richel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wade and Willie Casey; two brothers, Douglas and Dyton Casey, and three sisters, Christine Peters, Kathryn Smith and Vina Jean Graham.
A funeral service is at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, at First Apostolic Church in Longtown with Gary Jones officiating. Burial will be at Bower Cemetery under the direction of Hunn Black & Merritt Funeral Home & Crematory.
Pallbearers are Larry Williams, Gus Klutts, Richard Casey III, Dalton Rogers, Stanley Gerald Rogers Jr., and Stanley Klutts.
Honorary pallbearers are Earl Williams, Rayburn Eldridge, Billy Goff and Larry Hatridge.
