Perry Dean Shannon was born to John Perry Shannon and the late Earnestine Housley Shannon on February 13, 1957, in McAlester. Perry was the oldest of three children. His sister, Karolyn, and husband Fred Smoot, live in Quinton. His brother, Johnny and wife, Monica, reside in McAlester. Perry also leaves behind Debbie Shannon, stepmother, and stepsister, Geneva and husband, Freddy Miller, of McAlester, along with stepbrother, Jimmy Pingleton and wife, Ginger, of Ada, and their families.
Perry graduated from McAlester High School in 1975. He went on to graduate from East Central University in Ada. He attended Oklahoma City University for two years. He also graduated with a degree in radiologic technology from Presbyterian Hospital in Oklahoma City. Perry had several occupations but spent the majority of his working years as a radiologic technologist. He worked at many hospitals in the Oklahoma City area.
Perry never met a stranger. He could carry a conversation with anyone and everyone.
Perry was a Mason and member of the Masonic Day Lodge No. 547 in Oklahoma City. He held many offices to include the extreme privilege of Worshipful Master in 2001 and 2014.
He will be missed by many. But none will miss him more than his loving family.
Perry is survived by Christina Cortassa Shannon, and their three children, Andrea Ernestine, Alexander and Aaron James, all of Oklahoma City.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 3, at 2 p.m. at First Freewill Baptist in McAlester.
