Patricia Ann "Patty" (Page) Turner, 72, of McAlester, died Tuesday, February 13, 2018, in McAlester.
The family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Bishop Funeral Service.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 17, at Bishop Chapel of Memories officiated by the Rev. Leonard Higgins. Private burial will follow at Chambers Cemetery. Patty requested to be laid to rest next to her beloved mother-in-law, Geraldine Turner.
Patty was born on April 19, 1945, in Oklahoma City. She graduated from Altus High School, attained an associate's degree from SWOSU and completed her education at Baylor Dental School.
She worked for Dr. Robert Bartheld as a dental hygienist for 38 years in McAlester until his retirement; then worked for Dr. Jack Sheets until her retirement.
She never met a stranger. Her smile and laughter brightened the days of many family members, friends and patients.
She was a talented artist and had a unique flair for fashion and home décor. She loved animals, especially her dogs and horses. Patty was crowned Miss Rodeo Oklahoma 1964.
She was an active member of St. John the Evangelist Church, a member of the Fortnightly Club and the Holly Garden Club.
Patty is survived by a son, Todd Johnston, of McAlester; daughter, Kate Turner, of McAlester; grandchildren, Ayden Fry, Hayden Johnston and Kassidy Dillard Pearce; great-grandchildren, Reese and Jude; step-sisters: Cynthia Cataldo and Leslie Niemeijen, both of Davie, Florida; sister-in-law, Margie French and husband, Van, of McAlester; nieces, Karla Browne-Whitworth, of Sherman, Texas, and Kelly Browne-Jones, of McAlester; special friends, Liz Shaw and Eddy Duggar, and other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Naomi (Radar) Smith, and her father, Jim Page.
