Pamela Dale (Keefer) Dixon, 68, passed away at her home in Hartshorne on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in Hartshorne.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 20, at First Assembly of God Church in Hartshorne with Leon Mace officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hartshorne. Arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in Hartshorne.
Pam was born to Dale and Marcella Keefer in Mount Vernon, Ohio, on Jan. 2, 1949. She spent most of her childhood in the Hartshorne area, where she graduated high school in 1967. Pam was voted music queen her senior year.
She married Billy Borders Dixon in Houston, Texas, and they had two children, Marcella and John Dale. After a short time, she moved back to Hartshorne, where she and her mother opened Pam's Club, but her passion was music and spending time with her family.
She was employed by McAlester Army Ammunition Plant and also worked at Oklahoma State Penitentiary as a correctional officer. She later retired from Franklin Electric.
She enjoyed riding around looking for a good sale, but most, she liked to mess with her flowers, watch T.V. and spend time with her grandchildren.
She was a member of Edgewood Methodist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Marcella Roberts, of the home; one son, John Dale Dixon, of Houston, Texas; two granddaughters, Freya Manning Dixon, of Wisbech, England, and Kaylie Anson, of the home; two grandsons, David Roberts and wife, Brenna, of McAlester, and Cody Roberts, of the home; one great-grandson, Kaidon Roberts, of McAlester; one great-granddaughter, Arianna Roberts, of McAlester; two sisters, Alice Wood and husband, Perry, of Eufaula, and Jackie Swboni, of Hartshorne, and one brother, George Swboni, of Dow. Pam also left behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends that she loved dearly.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents, Dale Keefer and Marcella Van Meter Keefer Swboni; a step-father, George Swboni; her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Keefer, and George and Eva Swboni; maternal grandparents, Jack and Alice Van Meter; a step-grandmother, Emma Van Meter; special aunt and uncles, Liddy and Raymond Nace, and Joe Swboni; an infant brother, George Swboni, and numerous other aunts and uncles.
Active pallbearers will be David Roberts, Cody Roberts, Frankie Ray Ranallo, Shane Swboni, George C. Swboni and Patrick Goforth.
Honorary pallbearers will be Perry Wood, Lonnie Nace, Ronnie Nace and John Van Meter.
