Naomi Maxine "Doodle" Hayes, 69, a longtime resident of McAlester, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 27, 2017, at sunrise in Tulsa.
Family will receive friends today, Aug. 30, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, at Brumley-Mills Chapel in McAlester.
Maxine was born on Oct. 23, 1947, in McAlester, to Lucinda Lucille Wilson. She graduated from Sayre High School 1967.
Maxine was a member of the Main and Oklahoma Church of Christ.
She was most notably a caregiver, recently at Burgundy House.
She was an animal lover and worked for several veterinarians over the years.
Maxine was an avid gardener, creative at sewing, loved to cook and bake for friends and family with a dessert always in her kitchen, loved to crappie fish, and she made friends everywhere she went.
She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Tommy; her sisters, Dorothy Ellington, of Enid, Jean Reeves, of Muskogee, Peggy Fulkersin, of Clayton, New Mexico, Fran Mattias, of Shawnee, Becky Schorr, of Manassas, Virginia, Betty Joslyn, of Homer, Alaska, Sherry Lou Medley, of Muskogee, and Terry Adams, of Midland, Texas; brothers, Bob Wilson, of Checotah, Jerry Wilson, of Hartshorne, and Gary Wilson, of Fort Gibson, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her dear mother, Lucinda Lucille Wilson.
