Michael Edward Souza, a longtime resident of McAlester, died at his home on January 15, 2018, at the age of 50.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, January 19, at Bishop Garden Chapel with Pastor Brian Smith and Red Coleman officiating.
Michael was born at Oak Knoll Navel Base in Oakland, California, on July 3, 1967. He graduated from Henryetta High School in 1980. While a young boy, Mike delivered the newspaper in Henryetta for several years. He was a member of the Henryetta High School band percussion section and played tritons in the marching band. He later attended Oklahoma Christian College.
Michael was a member of the Northside Assembly of God Church. He loved his church family there. He also occasionally attended the Main & Oklahoma Church of Christ with his mother.
He had many friends at the Aldridge where he resided. He enjoyed music, playing pool and bowling. Michael had a sweet, loving spirit and strong faith. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
He is survived by his mother, Georgia Cain; his sister, Dee Dee Cain and Jessica Cain; his nephews, Brayden Michael Cain, Brantley Alfred Cain, and Blakely Kendall Smith; his niece, Braylee Loree Smith; aunts, Terry, Marilyn and Lila, and a number of cousins.
He was preceded in death by his beloved granny, Loree (Moon) Williamson; his grandpa, Alfred Williamson, and cousin, Zina Tea.
