Michael Glenn "June Bug" McMillan, 56, of Pittsburg, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, in Ada.
A Celebration of Life service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5, at Bishop Chapel of Memories officiated by the Rev. Linda Snider. A reception will be held at Life Church from noon until 2 p.m. Anyone wishing to bring food items can be dropped off at Life Church after 10 a.m.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Cottrell, Bill McMillan, Cody Bill McMillan, Kenny Cunningham, Jody Wood, Saven Wood, Dillion Martin, Rob Cole, Steve Verner, Jurny Vicars, Tommy Sommer and Joe Neil Durant.
June Bug was born on April 26, 1961, to Etoy and Katie Mae (Boatman) Cottrell in Clifton, Texas. He attended Kiowa schools.
June Bug worked as a carpenter and rock carver. He enjoyed going to the lake, fishing, dancing and riding his motorcycle.
He attended Life Church in McAlester and Tulsa. June Bug was known to his many friends to be an inspirational speaker. He wanted to be remembered as a person of "peace, love and joy with love being the greatest."
June Bug is survived by his daughters, Ashley Sweetin, of Pittsburg, and Samantha McMillan, of McAlester; son, Cody Bill McMillan, of Pittsburg; step-son, Jurny Vicars, of Tulsa; grandchildren, Aspen, Kati Bell, Ashton and Hunter; the children's mother and his best friend, Mary Bell Sweetin, of Pittsburg; his very special friend, Buffie Vicars, of Tulsa; brothers, Bill McMillan and Ricky Cottrell, both of Kiowa; sisters, Vickie Minnick and husband, Virgil, of Enid, Denice Martin, of Pittsburg, and Etoya Riddle and husband, Terry, of Blanco, and numerous nieces and nephews including, Heaven, Brook, Dillion, Brandi, Misty and Buddy. Many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Etoy and Katie Mae Cottrell; a cousin, Tony Boatman, and good friend, Jim Depue.
