Melba A. Russell, 77, of McAlester, died Sunday, June 4, 2017, at Walnut Grove Living Center.
Family will receive friends today from 6 to 7 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, at Brumley-Mills Chapel with Brother Bart Effinger officiating. Burial will follow at Arpelar Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.
Melba was born on Nov. 21, 1939, in Crawford, to Charles and Francis (Spangler) Miller. She married Joe Russell on April 27, 1974, in Midwest City.
She enjoyed gardening and took pride in her roses. She also enjoyed working in her yard, and playing skip-bo and dominoes with her brothers and sisters. She loved spending time with her kids and grandkids.
Melba is survived by three children and spouses, Kenny and Tammie Hagar, Valerie and Steve Mullins, and Natalie Kennedy; six grandchildren, Kyle and Natasha Mullins, Tabitha and Zack Kern, Pam and Evan Miller, Travis Hagar, Brady Kennedy and Joe Kennedy; great-grandchildren, Ellie Miller, Paisley Mullins and Gatlin Mullins; one brother, Pete and Shirley Miller; two sisters, Lucille Bradford and Helen Abeyta, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Russell; one daughter, Pamela Hagar; two brothers, Charlie Miller and Fred Miller, and one sister, Velma Schultz.
Pallbearers are Jimmy Bradford, Rodney Taylor, Ricky Taylor, Bobby Miller, Greg Schultz and Billy Chase.
