Martha Brown Benham


Martha Brown Benham, of Choctaw, formerly of McAlester, died on August 11, 2019. She was born in Bache on February 22, 1926, to Harlin and Sallie Roden Brown.
Survivors include her children, Charlene Williams, Ed and Kathy Collins, Jim and Laura Benham, and Kay Payne; one step-son, Thomas Benham; grandchildren, Dana Limke, Dr. Aaron and Bailey Benham, Rachel and Drew Hendricks, Hillary Payne, Samantha Payne, Michael Payne, Eric and Taylor Payne, Kevin Held, and Karly Held; great-grandchildren, Max Limke, Riley Limke, Grace Held, Jaxson Calhoun, Eli Calhoun, Luke Payne, Chesney Payne, Oliver Benham, Otto Benham, and Lennox Hendricks; great-great-grandchild, Benton Limke, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie; her parents, Harlin and Sallie Brown; five brothers, Elton, Charlie, Fred, Dennis and David; five sisters, Christine, June, Billie, Betty and Patsy, and many other loving relatives and friends.
Next to the love of the family, was her love of flowers and gardening.
Martha was a longtime member of Christ United Methodist Church.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
