Loretta Ruth Fannie, 75, of McAlester, died Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at her home surrounded by her six children.
Loretta was born on Nov. 21, 1941, in Norwalk, Connecticut, to Edmund and Ruth (May) Hoyt. She was married to Edward Ulric Fannie II for 51 years until his death in 2013.
She is survived by six children, Heidi Scobell and husband, George III, of Columbus, Ohio, Victoria Henderson and husband, Guy, of Duncan, Richard Scott Fannie and wife, Debra, of Fort Worth, Texas, Edward "Ricky" Ulric Fannie III and wife, Nancy, of Marlow, Ruth Harkins and husband, Stephen, of McAlester, and Lucas Fannie and wife, Laurie, of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, George Scobell IV and wife, Laura, of Allentown, Pennsylvania, Loretta Abbott and husband, Matthew, of Manassas, Virginia, Matthew Scobell and wife, Sarah, of Bethlehem, Georgia, Michael McCormick and Kiley Elligard, of Edmond, Brittany McCormick, of Duncan, Corbin Henderson, of Duncan, Nathan Kendall and wife, Emily, of Overton, Texas, Jessica Wooten and husband, Mike, of Marlow, Crist'l Lodato, of Moore, Sabrina Kitchens, of Lawton, Michael Fannie and wife, Merriam, of Duncan, Samantha Phillips and husband, Clint, of Marlow, Tabatha Harwell and husband, Josiah, of Duncan, Cade Harkins, of Puyallup, Washington, Olivia Harkins and Racer Harkins, both of McAlester, Aaron Fannie and wife, Morgan, of Austin, Texas, and Drew Fannie, of Austin, Texas; great-grandchildren, Lily, Addison, George V, Emma, Liam, Ally, Abram, Alivia, Lennox, Chase, Cali, Elli, Aiden, Easton, Shelby, Skyler, Breanna, Haleigh, Colton, Kaitlyn, Michael, Maddie, Alivia, Violet, Aubree and Lawson; sisters, Bernice DeNike and husband, Frank, of McAlester, Liberty Brown and husband, Tom, of Laconia, New Hampshire, and Anna May Hutchins, of Keene, New Hampshire, and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Loretta was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Uric Fannie II, in 2013; her parents, Edmund and Ruth Hoyt; granddaughter-in-law, Jordan McCormick; brother, Ellis Hoyt, and sisters, Florence Henry, Dolores Sanders and Elsie Tacy.
The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today, April 27, at Chaney's Memorial Chapel in McAlester.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 28, at Chaney's Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Warren W. Harkins officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery in McAlester.
