Lois Pool was born on Feb. 21, 1940, in London, Kentucky, to Taylor and Mary Elizabeth (Wathen) Harris.
She grew up in Kentucky, and on May 12, 1964, she married Ervin Lee Pool Jr. Since he was a career military man, they lived in many different places over the years, but have considered Savanna to be home.
Since she wasn't able to finish school when she was younger, she went back to school and earned her GED, then an associate degree from Eastern State College, then attended Southeastern State College where she earned a bachelor's degree in psychology.
Lois was a hard-working woman, working many different jobs to support her family. She was also very outgoing and "never met a stranger" as she could relate to just about anyone. She was also a true Sooner fan to the end and was her children's and grandchildren's greatest cheerleader and supporter.
Lois is survived by a son, Robert Allen Pool; daughters, Cara Birdsall, Angel Pool, and Lavonda Collins; grandchildren, Amy Birdsall, Arlena Stepp, Libby, Maddie and Carlie Pool, Kyle Birdsall, and Frankie Pool; and four great-grandchildren; a sister, Eudell Pickett, and several in-laws.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ervin "Sonny" Pool Jr.; a son, Ervin L. Pool III; five brothers and one sister.
